I don't want to feel. I want to numb out and make the pain and flashbacks/ switching vanish. Presto! Magic! Gone. Chocolate acts like a drug for me and gets me high. While I might not have used other substances for a few twenty fours, and life is completely different from early recovery, how can I even claim to be in recovery at all if I have just switched addictions? Chocolate is my new heroin, and the worst part is it is completely socially acceptable, and doesn't carry the same risks. It's a spiritual suicide. Self harm, self sabotage. Self centered fear, the core of the disease.

In celebration of "Mothers Day", officially deemed a National holiday in 1914 and celebrated the second Sunday of May, this is a day to honor the woman/women in our lives who have helped us grow, taught us love and showed it unconditionally...I have many Motherly figures including right here on poly. But I have only one Mommy...she is a hero, a role model..and the most beautiful person in the world..

This song is so moving and the story truly inspiring about one woman's struggle to fulfill her dreams of being a singer..it's a song from the play Les Miserables which is one of my favorite. I can't wait to see the movie. There is a major blizzard and amazingly we still have power but are literally stuck inside..unable to open the door..The movie Psycho is on and it is after two in the morning and I am doing everything in my power to stay grounded..think positively..work together..and concentrate on beauty and light, hope love and God. I am praying for all who are struggling and sending safe hugs to all who want them or need them.
